Spanish training has been a long-time goal for the Fastener Training Institute. While numerous people in Mexico speak English, many may not be fluent enough to interact on a technical level regarding fasteners. It is critical that everyone in our industry has access to fastener training and continuing education. Removing the language barrier will improve efficiency, build employee confidence, enhance relationships and expand job opportunities. Each 90-minute webinar will be presented in English by Salim Brahimi, IFI’s Director of Technology, and translated into Spanish by Carlos Suarez, Industrial Engineer and Quality Control Specialist at Pernostock. Scheduled English/Spanish Webinar Topics ¤ November 8, 2024: Intro to Fastener Standards and Navigating the IFI Standards ¤ December 6, 2024: Intro to Threads - Inch and Metric ¤ January 10, 2025: Platings and Coatings The webinars will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time. The cost is 5 per webinar for up to 10 people with access to the recording for one week after the live class. Later in 2025, the Spanish Webinar series continues with: ¤ How Fasteners are Made ¤ Fastener Engineering: Preload, Torque Tension, Bolted Joint Design ¤ Intro to Materials and Metallurgy Additional Training Opportunities Online Learning Library & NEW Learning Management System: Focused on supporting virtual training, the Fastener Training Institute is gearing up to launch their new Learning Management System. In tandem with FTI’s Online Learning Library, which offers more than 60 fastener-related topics, the new LMS will allow companies to maintain and track employee training records, measure knowledge retention and assess needs. Rental options will range from two-week to annual subscriptions with pricing structures that fit any size company. On-Site Training: FTI also offers on-site training opportunities for companies who want an instructor to come to their location. This training is tailored specifically to a company’s workforce, industry, employee experience and needs. This option enables in-person training while eliminating the need for employees to travel.
