Our journey began in 2001 as a mom and pop industrial fastener distributor located in a small rented building in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the course of 20 years, we have navigated our way through the trials and tribulations of growing a successful business. Today BRF is centrally located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with operations expanding over 3 buildings, 45,000 square feet, a manufacturing facility for stud bolts, ,000,000 in local inventory and 28 employees. Getting to where we are today has been the result of many variables including leadership, vision, commitment to excellence, dedication and hard work. From time to time we have come to the proverbial fork in the road when critical decisions were made to move the company forward in an ever changing industry. It is this willingness to take risks, for the benefit of our customers. that has been instrumental in our success. In 2008, BRF, along with our customers, noticed a trend in our industry where more projects were requiring domestic products and material. Though we sourced this material, the decision was made to incorporate 100% domestic products and material into our inventory portfolio. This resulted in numerous benefits for BRF, and our customers, including less dependency upon 3rd parties and sourcing, more competitive pricing, quicker deliveries and the ability to offer any and all country of origin requirements from our warehouse. It also provided us a product that we could proudly stand behind. In 2014, we saw a movement in the oil/gas industry, as well as other energy related entities, where stud bolt and 2H nut coating specifications were changing from zinc plating to PTFE coatings, specifically blue xylan. At that time stock availability was limited to a few large manufacturers with long lead times, especially if customers were requesting domestic material. This provided an opportunity to better meet the demands of our customers and our industry. The decision was made to stock domestic blue xylan B7 stud bolts and domestic blue xylan over tapped 2H nuts. BUSINESS FOCUS ARTICLE CONTINUED ON PAGE 150
