Thesedelays were frustrating, so I decided to do something aboutit – I bought some machines from a manufacturer in Spainand our journey to a manufacturer began. It’s been scary, but exciting, and I’m still in the process of learning – wireis not wire, tooling is not tooling and oil is not oil – butI am very proud of the cold forming team we’ve createdin Erkrath and the WRC2024 was the culmination of thededication and hard work of the whole GOEBEL family.”The twelve expert presentations, given in both Germanand English, included technical lectures from Lyndon andLonni Lattie of SmartCert with this innovative technologybeing adopted in GOEBEL’s new facility, attendees learnedhow the technology can be used for batch traceability anddocumentation. Lyndon highlighted, “As a forward-thinkingcompany, Goebel has been an early adopter of SmartCertand is embracing innovation across the entire organization. In the supply chain, suppliers want more control overthe way they receive documents, the quality of these, aswell as how quickly they receive them. Our technology isfocused on making the fastener industry more competitiveand efficient, so companies can focus on what they dobest and not worry about sending certs in a certain way– which is also largely customer dependent – instead theinformation is already there.”Goebel’s newly designed packaging has a QR-Codethat enables customers to scan and receive all relevantinformation and certs straight away empowered by theSmartCert technology. This information is updated in realtime even after the parts have shipped.Lyndon concluded, “Launched in the fastener industryback in 2021, SmartCert is expanding to a variety ofindustries – any industry that requires traceability.BUSINESS FOCUS ARTICLECONTINUED ON PAGE 75
